Plant Manager - Makena Gas Plant

Outrigger Energy is currently seeking a Plant Manager for our Makena Gas Plant in the DJ Basin located near Briggsdale, CO. The successful candidate will be familiar with all facets of gas compression, treating, dehydration, and processing.  The candidate will oversee all unit operations and operations personnel within the Makena Plant and will be responsible for the operational success of the facility.

 

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have a minimum of ten (10) years of experience in the midstream industry with detailed knowledge/experience with::  

  1. Gas compression, treating, dehydration, measurement, and cryogenc processing. 

  2. Gas and NGL measurement, NGL transmission, and NGL truck loading.

  3. Prior management experience of plant operations personnel with regards to measurement, equipment maintenance, pumping system operations, plant debottlenecking, and compression. 

  4. Proven safety record from prior management experience.  Prior safety training and knowledge of safety training programs.  

  5. Planning and scheduling experience for personnel, equipment, materials, and contractors.

  6. Ability & experience in working with Engineering groups on construction/expansion projects, contractor work permitting, and plant optimization.

  7. Candidate must pass a drug test as a condition of employment and be subject to the corporate random drug testing program throughout employment.

  8. Physical requirements:  Candidate must be capable of climbing equipment ladders and stairs located in the gas plant and facilities.  Candidate must be capable of working around equipment & piping, lifting materials weighing up to 50#, and capable of providing assistance to other operations personnel in case of emergency.  

 

Responsibilities

  1. Assist upper management in interviewing and hiring plant operations personnel.

  2. Manage operations personnel:  Training programs, standard operating procedure verification and testing, work scheduling, O/T management, terminations, evaluations, & safety awareness.

  3. Manage operations contractors:  Plant meter calibrations, NGL meter proving, contract maintenance, & equipment emissions testing.

  4. Manage integrity programs: mechanical integrity (periodic API 510 and 570 testing), annual relief valve testing, reporting, & safety programs. 

  5. Maintain facility PSM documentation, procedures, training & testing requirements. 

  6. Manage environmental compliance programs: spill reporting, waste management, LDAR, monthly emissions tracking, periodic equipment testing.

  7. Assist in volume scheduling, including gas and NGL scheduling, waste water scheduling, and plant condensate scheduling.

  8. Develop a yearly operating budget for the facility

  9. Optimize gas plant operations, maximize NGL recoveries, system on-line %, minimize fuel and loss, and maximize the profitability of the facility. 

  10. Work closely with upper management, Commercial, Engineering, Environmental, Land and other corporate groups on expansions, PHA’s, cost and down-time reporting, and other interactive responsibilities. 

Education 

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or related technical discipline or equivalent proven field experience.

Language

Fluent oral and written knowledge of English is required

Work Schedule 

This position will have a 4/10 base schedule with a foreseeable 0 to 30% additional time for management duties as required.  Domestic travel may be required for third-party or cross-facility training.
